Use of the Service
Eligibility
To rent and operate a scooter, you must:
Be at least 18 years old.
Possess a valid government-issued ID.
Agree to operate the scooter safely and responsibly.
Account Setup
You may be required to create an account via our mobile app. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information and to keep your account secure. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
License to Use
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable right to access and use our scooters solely for lawful personal transportation within Anchorage.
Prohibited Uses
You agree not to:
Operate a scooter while under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
Carry passengers or items that impair safe operation.
Ride outside designated service areas or on prohibited trails.
Tamper with, damage, or misuse the equipment.
Use the service for commercial or unlawful purposes.
Fees and Payment
Usage Fees
Rental costs are calculated based on time or distance and are clearly displayed in the app before your ride begins.
Billing
You authorize Anchorage E-Scooter Rentals to charge your payment method for all fees incurred during use, including penalties for improper parking or damage.
Refunds
Rides are non-refundable unless otherwise required by law or at our discretion in the case of a documented service failure.
Damage, Loss, or Theft
You are financially responsible for the scooter during your rental period. This includes:
Damages beyond normal wear and tear.
Theft, loss, or abandonment of the scooter.
Fines incurred from improper parking or violations.
Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account without notice if you breach these Terms or misuse the service. Upon termination, all outstanding balances must be paid in full.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted under Alaska law, Anchorage E-Scooter Rentals and its affiliates are not liable for any:
Injuries, accidents, or fatalities resulting from the use or misuse of our scooters.
Damages arising from weather conditions, road hazards, or unauthorized use.
Technical interruptions, loss of access, or third-party interference.
Use of our scooters is at your own risk. Helmets are strongly encouraged but not provided.
Changes to Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated through the app or our website. Continued use after changes take effect signifies your acceptance of the updated Terms.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Alaska. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts located in Anchorage, Alaska.
